Rates held steady Thursday following the release of mixed economic data. The March Producer Price Index (PPI) fell 0.1%, below the consensus for a flat reading, and was 2.3% higher than one year ago. Core PPI, which excludes volatile food and energy components, was unchanged, and was 1.6% higher year-over-year. Weekly Jobless Claims came in at 234,000, below forecast. Consumer Sentiment rose to 98.0, slightly above expectations. No other key data will be released today. Mortgage-backed securities markets will close at 2:00 PM and remain closed until Monday in observance of Good Friday.
