Daily Market Update 3/9/17

Mortgage rates were little changed Thursday ahead of tomorrow’s release of key employment data.  This morning, the European Central Bank (ECB) made no policy changes.  In a press conference, ECB President Mario Draghi said there is no longer “that sense of urgency” to provide new stimulus measures.  In the U.S., weekly Jobless Claims rose to 243,000, slightly above forecast.  Import Prices increased 0.2%, in line with expectations.  Results from today’s 30-year Treasury auction will be released at 1:00 PM.  The Employment Report for February will be released Friday at 8:30 AM.
