The Producer Price Index (PPI) declined by 0.4%, well below expectations. The more closely watched “Core” PPI, which excludes volatile food and energy components, fell 0.3%, and was a tame 0.1% higher than one year ago. Consumer Sentiment rose to 93.1, a bit higher than expected. Stocks moved modestly lower. No other key data will be released today.
