Mortgage rates were little changed Tuesday as newly released economic data came in close to expectations. March Retail Sales rose 0.9%, slightly below the consensus forecast of +1.0%. The Producer Price Index (PPI) increased by 0.2% and was 0.8% lower than one year ago, mostly due to oil prices. Core PPI, which excludes volatile food and energy components, rose 0.2%, and was a tame 0.9% higher than one year ago. No other key data will be released today.
