Mortgage rates were little changed Tuesday in spite of stronger than expected economic data. The S&P Case-Shiller 20-city home price index rose 1.1% in April and was 11% higher than one year ago. New Home Sales jumped 18.6% in May to 504,000 annual units, well above the consensus forecast of 440,000, to the highest level in six years. Consumer Confidence rose to 85.2, beating expectations. Results from today’s 2-year Treasury auction will be released at 1:00 PM.
