Rates were unchanged Tuesday as newly released economic data came in close to expectations. April Durable Goods Orders rose 0.8%, well above the consensus forecast of -0.7%, but the results were distorted by volatile transportation orders. The March Case-Shiller 20-city home price index increased 0.9% and was 12% higher than one year ago. Consumer Confidence came in at 83.0, matching forecast. Results from today’s 2-year Treasury auction will be released at 1:00 PM.
